Notarial Services for Businesses

Rebecca is able to assist businesses with a wide range of notarial services, including:

  • certification of documents relating to legal entities registered at Companies House;
  • preparation of documents required to incorporate a company overseas;
  • attesting documents (including tender documents) required to be signed on behalf of a company for use overseas;
  • powers of attorney for use overseas;
  • affidavits, sworn or statutory statements or declarations and witness statements for use in overseas litigation.

Legalisation

Certain jurisdictions require a notarised document to be legalised. Legalisation is the process whereby the notary’s signature and seal are verified and confirmed by an independent authority. In England and Wales, such documents are verified and confirmed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office who endorse documents with an ‘Apostille’.

Certain jurisdictions require legalisation by their own Consulate in England instead of, or in addition to, the Apostille. Fees for such Consular Legalisation can vary greatly and depend upon how quickly the document is required.

Rebecca is able to deal with the Legalisation of documents on your behalf.

Getting Started

First, send Rebecca your draft document by email or fax here. Please also confirm the receiving jurisdiction (i.e. the country the document will be sent to).

Following her review of the document Rebecca will confirm any particular requirements (e.g. witnesses) and her fees (together with any disbursements such as Legalisation fees).

Rebecca will then arrange a suitable time to meet with you and prior to your meeting she will carry out any steps necessary to finalise the document (including liaising with your overseas advisers if required). You will be required to bring two forms of identification (passport together with a utility bill or bank statement no more than three months old to evidence your address) with you to the meeting.

Following the meeting Rebecca will deal with any necessary Legalisation following which she will return the document to you or to an overseas address at your request (additional postage charges may be applied).
